I have set myself the goal to write at least a thousands words a day. I am not talking about messaging or email. I want to write thousand words on blog posts, my journal or upcoming courses. Since I Ulysses for all my writing, it’s really simple to track it. In this short post, I will show you how.
Goals in General
If you have used Ulysses for a while, the chance is big you already found out, how to set goals. If not, here is a short guide.
Goals can be set for everything in Ulysses. Either a single sheet, a filter or a group. Let’s begin with the simplest one.
The goals are hidden in the Attachments Tab on the top right.
If you now click the target, which is the second from the left, you will be able to set your goal for that article:
As you can see, you have a lot of options. But since now I have only used the words.
Now let’s set them for filters and groups, which is the same, basically:
Easy as that. Now we got everything we need, to set our daily writing goal.
Set a Daily Writing Goal in Ulysses
Since the Today View is also only a filter we can use the same process as above. Simply right click on it, select Goals… and set it to at least 1000 words or whatever your goal is.
